Job Description

Job title: Principal Safety Case Consultant
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £80-£100 Umbrella | £60.22-£75.15 PAYE
Location: Edinburgh
Hours of work: 37 Hours Mon-Friday

Applicants must have experience of the following:
- Minimum degree in a science or engineering related discipline
- 15 years relevant experience of directing and undertaking radiological and safety assessments
- INSA and peer review experience
- Experience in the nuclear industry
- Developing and preparing safety documentation for projects such as hazard management strategies and safety reports (PSRs, PCSRs)
- Knowledge and experience of regulatory negotiations
- Provision of specialist advice

Ideally applicants should also have:
- Chartership status

Role information:
- Provide nuclear safety advice to project design
- Prepare safety case strategies
- Produce calculations, analysis and design documentation and technical reports
- Act as the key contact point for stakeholders
- Identify hazards and take remedial action where required
- Review and provide safety submissions
- Review changes in design and discuss any technical queries
- Raise quality plans for single discipline work packages
- Produce technical work scopes
